Heat 1 tablespoon of avocado oil. Sauté half an onion and three cloves of garlic. Season with salt, pepper, and 2 tablespoons of Korean red pepper flakes. Remove from pan.
Add in chopped rib meat (use a tender rib or fatty cut of beef). Sauté and season with garlic powder, 3 tablespoons of low-sodium soy sauce, and 2 tablespoons of your choice of sweetener. I used xylitol ground sugar. Don’t use liquid sweetener or it won’t thicken the sauce.
Add onions back in and cook on high heat, stirring often. Once cooked to desired temperature and the sauce has become glossy and thick, top with a dash of toasted sesame oil and green onion.
